CHINA -CPEC
1. It is rather unfortunate that the PTI and the party government in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KPK) have dragged the federal government to the court over the CPEC issue. PTI should refrain from completing the incomplete agenda of India by kicking up a row over the project. India had conspired against the Kalabagh Dam using Awami National Party. CPEC is Pakistan’s project and China is fully involved in this big project. Any problem created in its execution will be against the interests of Pakistan. If PTI failed to change its approach towards the CPEC project then the people of Pakistan themselves will dump PTI. (Nawa-i-Waqt Edit)
2. Khyber Pakhtunkhwah government has reservations over certain aspects of the CPEC project and has decided to move the court. The Federal Minister for Planning and Development Ahsan Iqbal has criticised the KP government move. He should have avoided the criticism. Instead he should have tried to remove the reservations/doubts of small provinces vis-à-vis CPEC since rivals of Pakistan are using these small provinces for their own ends. Few days ago China asked Pakistan’s political parties to create a favourable atmosphere for the CPEC project in the country. Indian agency RAW is funding to sabotage the CPEC project. Arrest of its agents from Balochistan should have been a matter of concern for the Pakistani politicians. (Khabrain Edit)

He said that even the founder of Darul Uloom Maulana Muhammad Qasim Nanotvi had said the Rawafiz were in exact opposition of the Sunni faith. Forget the past. Recently Iran backed Yemeni militants fired missiles on Mecca and that this exposes their intention. The policy of aggression adopted by Iran in Middle East is also a case in point. Iran is becoming aggressive because of disunity amongst the Sunni people and their being away from jihad.

SINDH/BALOCHISTAN/KP/PUNJAB
1. The situation is again deteriorating in Karachi. The crime rate has gone up, be it street crime or target killings, both have shot up in past few days. The bitter truth about Karachi will have to be accepted and that bitter truth is that though a lot is being claimed at higher level about operations against criminals and militants in Karachi, the roots of the perpetrators of crime and militancy are still intact, and that is the reason that these perpetrators of crime and militancy have easy access to huge heaps of arms available to them in Karachi. Decisive operations that are needed to cleanse Karachi completely. (Sindh Express Edit)

In the Balochistan, Abdul Hameed Achakzai demanded an impartial probe into the recent terror attack on the Police Training Academy saying that the cadets became sitting ducks as they were recalled to the parade ground after the parade was over. Additional IG Ayub Quereshi had recalled the cadets and as such he should be removed for a fair probe. Out of 11,000 on police rolls, , just 700 police men are on the duty in Quetta and the remaining are either working at the houses of their seniors or giving half of their salaries to them. From IG Balochistan downwards, all get their monthly hafta’s. Every year the government is spending over Rupees 30 billion on the law and order. Where is this money going? (Awami Awaz)
