Parl elections to be held soon: Sri Lankan PM

Sri Lankan will elect a new Parliament, Prime Minister Ratnasiri Wickremanayake
said  in Colombo on Feb 4.
'Parliamentary elections will be held soon. For any election we will have to
create the suitable atmosphere. In this regard the emergency legislation would
have to continue', he stated.
Parliamentary polls are due in April and ever since President Mahinda Rajapaksa
won a second term in the Jan 26 ballot there has been speculation that he would
advance the polls.
