Kasab Is Not A Minor, Doctors tell Mumbai Court
Doctors conducted dental examination and bone-density tests on Kasab and pronounced him an adult.
‘Doctors unanimously arrived at the conclusion that accused Kasab was more than 20 years of age’, public prosecutor Ujjwal Nikam told reporters outside the special prison court on Tuesday.
Kasab gave his age as 21 on two occasions after his arrest on November 26 – to a doctor who treated him for injuries and to the chief of the Arthur Road jail where was taken on remand but defence lawyer Abbas Kazmi ( seen in the pix at the court premises) argued that Kasab was not even 17.
Now he will cross-examine the medical witnesses Wednesday, focusing on the possible margin of error in the tests, he said.
Charges against Kasab include ‘waging war’’ on India, murder, attempted murder and kidnapping in connection with the November 26-29 carnage that left 166 people dead and more than 300 injured.
