Selvarasa Pathmanathan heads LTTE remnants
Two months after the Sri Lanka Army eliminated the top LTTE l4eadership and crushed Tigers in Eelam War IV, the rump elements have regrouped under the leadership of Selvarasa Pathmanathan (54) to ‘continue’ their struggle. Pathmanathan, head of international relations, is said to be hiding in South-east Asia, most probably Malaysia where the Tigers have some safe coastal hide outs. Arms smuggling and money laundering were his specialty.
The new group styles itself Tigers Executive Committee. In a statement it said it has found a new headquarters to compensate the loss of Wanni to the Sri Lanka Army. And claims a strength of 1500 to 2000 fighters
