PAKISTAN -NSG
1. The Indian PM has failed to win the NSG membership. Despite American efforts, Pakistan’s friends China, New Zealand, Turkey, South Africa and others expressed their reservations, and had their way. India’s Opposition Congress party has held the Modi government responsible for this failure. Strangely, Modi’s India has not learnt a lesson and keeps blaming Pakistan for Pathankot and Mumbai attacks. Pakistan should disclose to the US the confessional statements of the arrested Indian agents. (Ausaf Edit)
2. The Pakistan Foreign Office deserves praise for its fantastic diplomatic campaign that has stalled India’s bid to become a member of the NSG at the NSG convention held in Vienna. Despite the US’ efforts, India failed to win the membership because of strong opposition from many nations. China played a vital role in this regard. Now the actual decision will be taken at a meeting that will be held on 20-25 June. Pakistan therefore will have to continue its diplomatic efforts and strengthen its lobbying to ensure opposition from maximum number of countries in the 48-member body. Only then US’ favour would not help India. (Nawa-i-Waqt Edit)
UNITED STATES
1. JuD Chief Hafiz Saeed asked the Army to shoot down American drones that violate Pakistan air space. This is the way to teach the US a lesson. (Daily Intekhab)
2. Pakistan-US relations that have suffered a setback and are not likely to improve soon, say diplomatic sources. Visits of US officials Richard Olson and Peter Lavoy failed to break the ice. (Roznama Dunya)
3. It is confusing as to why US holds Pakistan responsible for the chaos in Afghanistan and for every terror-related incident. Also the US is singing India’s praise since PM Modi’s visit and has forgotten Pakistan’s sacrifices in the war against terrorism. As far Pathankot is concerned, the Indian investigation agencies have given Pakistan a clean chit. Pakistan has evidence to prove India’s interference with the detention of Kulbhushan Yadav and other agents. Pakistan should clarify its position to the US and take the international community into confidence over the NSG and other issues. (Khabrain Edit)

They added that whosoever becomes a US ally, the US destroys that nation; India will also meet the witness the same fate. Pakistan will foil the US’ dream to pin down Pakistan and China by availing facilities of military bases in India. (Roznama Dunya, Khabrain)
2. India and Pakistan have been having negotiations for the last 70 years, but nothing concrete has come of the talks. Recently India said that there are no fixed dates for negotiations with Pakistan and that Pakistan will have to make the atmosphere conducive for talks. The Indian High Commissioner to Pakistan said PM Modi will tour Pakistan in November Indian and at that time all issues would be discussed. Since Modi and Nawaz Sharif are close and the US wants Pakistan’s help in Afghanistan, it is a good time for Pakistan to move forward for concrete negotiations with India. (Ummat Edit)
3. The Indian Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar while speaking at Ghazipur and Home Minister Rajnath Singh in a statement have maligned Pakistan. Both said Pakistan is responsible for tension at the border. Siachen and Kashmir are very important for Pakistan. Yet it is trying to settle these issues through talks, instead of resorting to force or terrorism. Forget about initiating war, Pakistan has not even threatened war against India. None of Pakistan’s institutions have ever been involved in terrorist attacks in India; on the contrary, arrest of RAW agent Kulbhushan Yadav proves that India is directly involved in insurgency in Balochistan and Sindh. (Roznama Dunya Edit)
