1. Apart from India, there are some elements inside Pakistan who want to sabotage the CPEC project. The government should expose elements that are behind to sabotaging the CPEC project. Not only Khyber Pakhtunkhwah but Sindh and Balochistan as well have reservations on the CPEC. The government should remove the reservations of all the provinces. (Khabrain Edit)
UNITED STATES
1.The US has once again accepted that Pakistani nukes are in safe hands. Thus the propaganda against Pakistan is simply to create confusion. India is doing a lot of negative propaganda against Pakistan’s nuclear weapons but has not been successful in making Pakistan to end its nuclear program. The US wants talks between India and Pakistan and not war but India has become so blind in its war madness that it is not ready to understand the situation and the need for talks. (Edits in Daily Pak Edit, Nawa-i-Waqt)
2. Tariq Fatemi, Special Advisor to PM on foreign policy, said reports about Pakistan’s diplomatic isolation are not true. Some people are trying to create a rift between the Army and the civilian leaders. Sartaj Aziz only looks after foreign affairs and he is doing good job. PPP’s criticism on this issue is baseless. Zulfikar Bhutto government had no foreign minister. India is trying to distract the attention from the Kashmir issue. Giving preference to India will only add to tensions in region. Pakistan has told the US not to play politics of vendetta against Pakistan. (Kawish)
3. A Pakistani delegation led by PML-Q’s Mushahid Hussain called on the US President’s Special Advisor Peter and handed over to him documentary evidence about the Indian atrocities in Kashmir. INDIA –KASHMIR
1. PM Nawaz Sharif did not attend the third day of the Parliament session. It shows that he is not serious about Parliament. At the UN General Assembly, Sharif did not speak about India’s involvement in Balochistan and about the arrest of the Indian agent Kulbhushan Yadav. Pakistan should hold talks with India on the Kashmir issue and not on trade. India’s interventions in Pakistan and the Kashmir issue should be raised at international level. (Ausaf Edit)
2. Mudassir Jamal Tonsvi in his column noted that in the parliament session all major parties have vowed to unite against India’s aggression on the LoC and to support the right to self-determination of Kashmir. Just statements won’t help in changing the scenario. Whatever India has done should be retaliated by Pakistan. (Al Qalam Weekly, 7-13 October 2016)

TERRORISM & EXTREMISM
1. Speaking with ‘Ummat’, Hafiz Saeed said JuD is not involved in any terrorism adding that they had written twice to the UN to conduct a trial but the UN didn’t reply. According to his information, a US team has recently visited Pakistan and met PML-N and PPP leaders and demanded action against JuD. This team was sent by Indian lobby and the US sent the team on the behest of India because Modi is under pressure due to the tyranny in Kashmir. The aim is to bring Pakistan under pressure. Hafiz Saeed said that it is regrettable that Pakistani leaders didn’t understand India’s game and became a part of it. If the government bans them (JuD) they will go to court to prove their innocence. Even in the past, judiciary came to their aid because they have never indulged in terrorism nor will they in the future. Answering a question, Hafeez said that they are ready to challenge evidence that India brings against them at the UN. He had written to the UN in the past to form an international tribunal where JuD will present its case against India’s allegations. It is propaganda to say that Pakistan is being isolated because of him. (Ummat)
2. Disruptive activities by terrorist elements continue unabated in Balochistan. Every day there is news of killings, firing and other destructive acts. In Bolan, miscreants blew up the Gurukot Bridge that has hit traffic between Sabi and Quetta. Unknown persons had kept combustible material under the bridge which they blew up later. There were no casualties. In Bhag, in Bolan district, unknown persons shot dead two persons. Armed persons forcibly entered a house in Akram Colony in Hub and fired on two brothers. 1.Baloch rebel leader, Brahumdagh Bugti stated that he has no connection with the violent protests. He does not support the liberation army. He said that no talks were held with Pakistan authorities. He wants to go to India but he is not getting any help from India. If India had provided help, Balochistan too would be independent like Bangladesh. On the CPEC he said this project is harming the Balochs’ interests. It is Lahore and Islamabad that stand to benefit from the project. The Balochistan leadership that says they are satisfied with the 18th Amendment is not the real Balochs. They are not talking about the equal distribution of resources. They are seeking freedom from Pakistan. On surgical strikes, he said that Pakistan itself is not capable of striking against terror elements and, instead of objecting to India’s surgical strikes Pakistan should be grateful to India and the US for their strikes against militants and terrorists. He is pained with target killing of Punjabis in Balochistan and these killings are in fact reaction to establishment’s measures against Balochs. He denied that Switzerland government has rejected his application for political asylum. (Sindh Express)
