UNITED STATES
1. Donald Trump has won the US presidential polls proving all forecasts wrong. The people in Sindh who have been keenly watching the election, have high hopes that ties between Sindh and the US citizens will not only get stronger but the civil societies in both countries will be more in touch with each other and sectors like education, health, environment will get more support from US than at present.(Sindh Express Edit)
2. Trump’s victory has proved all predictions wrong. There are indications that the US policies during Trump Presidency will undergo major changes. It is said that the foreign policy will be changed substantially. Such talk is however premature. The US has a long history of democracy and decisions and policies are not made and changed overnight even as each policy and decision carries a mark of the new President. (Kawish)
3. Trump harped on anti-Muslim and anti-Pakistan rhetoric during the campaign. Thus Pakistan community in the US may have felt threatened from Trump’s victory. The impact of Trump’s victory will be felt on Pakistan and Afghanistan.56 Islamic nations should be concerned about the victory of Trump. Pakistan should make independent policies and avoid depending on the US. (Khabrain edit)
4. If the new US President adopts a policy of live and let live, positive changes will be noticed. Instead of leaning on India, Trump must take stock of US-Pak ties by weighing in regional factors. The new US President should remember Pakistan’s sacrifices in the war on terror. (Ausaf Edit)
5.Reacting to Donald Trump’s victory at the US hustings, JuD Chief Hafiz Saeed said racism and illiteracy have won in the US. The almighty has trapped the US in internal problems in the form of Trump. The US had killed Muslims and showed tyranny against Muslims and now Allah wants to punish the US citizens. Hafiz Saeed said that the true face of the US has been exposed. Muslims nations should unite and think about how to defend themselves. (Jasarat, Daily Pak, Nawa-i-Waqt)
6. Extremist Hindu are celebrating victory of Donald Trump in US elections. (Ummat, Jasarat)
7. US President elect Trump, in 2012 tweet, said that “will Pakistan ever seek apology for hiding Osama for 6 years?” During a charity meeting with the Republican-Hindu alliance last month, Trump assured that if he gets elected, India and U.S., will become allies. (Sindh Express)
8. JI Secretary General Liaquat Baloch says Hilary Clinton lost the US presidential elections since she is a woman. (Daily Pak)
9. Arif Bahar writes wining election by Donald Trump is just a change of face in US establishment. The policies would be same and that anti-Pakistan attitude in US establishment would continue. It won’t increase or decrease and the place where ties have currently stopped between the US and Pakistan from there only war is possible since defence concepts of both countries are contradictory to each other. Both countries have different heroes and villains. Trump has delivered anti-Muslims statements during his election campaign and hence it is expected that at social level Muslims in US might have difficulties. The only thing one has to wait and watch is how Putin and Trump deal with each other. (Jasarat)
10. Observers say Trump’s victory will not augur well for Pakistan. Umer Javed of Dawn said that it is possible Pakistan might have to see tough times because of being closer to extremist elements. There is also another angle that Trump has not spoken much about Pakistan and hence it looks Trump’s agenda will be focussed on the Middle East and Pakistan will be ignored. Khurram Hussain of Dawn said no one knows how Trump will address problems emanating from Pakistan’s policy regarding Afghanistan, stability in the nuclear countries, and regional complexities in countries like India, China and Iran.. Rima Umar, the legal advisor of the International Commission of Jurists, commented that traditionally Republicans were considered closer to Pakistan but Trump is not a traditional type. Babar Sattar, legal expert, said that those who were under the impression that Hillary would have been tougher unto Pakistan, they should better understand facing tough leader would have been a lot easier than facing leader whose policies are based on hatred and prejudices Another analyst, Musharraf Zaidi said that the policymakers in Pakistan will once again have to see US leanings to India; the US under Trump will keep asking Pakistan to do more. There are no expectations that Pak-US relations will improve under Trump. (Sindh Express)
11. A major question being asked now is what will be the new President Trump’s stand on Pakistan? How will the US look unto Pakistan that is now leaning more towards China? The US think tanks are of the view that the US stand unto both Pakistan and China will change with Trump in power. Because China has become manufacturing hub of the world, it has meant unemployment to 50 lakh people in the US during 15 years. Trump will want to regain the employment for Americans. While China might suffer in this process, India will stand to gain from it. Earlier, US used to enthuse both India and Pakistan for better ties but Trump has already given hints of his mind set regarding Pakistan by stating that Pakistan is a big problem and India is the solution for this big problem. In other words, if Trump works on this mind set, it would mean big trouble for Pakistan. (Kawish)
12. Analyst Imtinan Shahid says US community is not willing to see a woman as President. The US community believes the entire world community is their enemy and Donald used this weakness as a Trump card. 90% black people cast their votes to Trump while 10% votes went to Hillary. The Pentagon and the foreign office make foreign policies and US President acts upon these policies. The economically powerful US establishment runs the world on ‘no lift’ formula. South China, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Turkey, Syria or Iraq could be the new battlegrounds. (Khabrain)
13. Muḥammad Khan Saiyal’s article titled ‘Donald’s strange victory and Pakistan’ states that now Pakistan will have to review its policies regarding the US firstly to build better ties with Washington and secondly to ensure that its own interests are not adversely affected. The government should frame policies that are also acceptable to the US too. Donald is more sympathetic to India compared to Pakistan. Hence, Pakistan will have to be much far-sighted this time. (Sindh Express)

POLITICAL SCENE
1. Razak Khati in his article titled ‘PPP heading for its organisational decline and fall’ says the PPP leadership is deliberately side-lining its ideological-based activists fearing that these ideologues might raise voice against irregularities in the party. There are reports making rounds that the party is digging its own grave by taking Feudals into the party-fold. Party leaders are making money for arranging PPP activists’ meeting with party Chairman, Bilawal. If such things continue, Bilawal’s innocence will stop working for PPP and stop yielding dividends for the party. Being one of the major parties, any wrong or right decision by the PPP leadership will have its repercussions on common man. Hence, the party will have to clarify if it wants to be a party of common men or wants to go along with allies like PML (Q). (Sindh Express)
