Mir says that unfortunately, the same day, Geo News reporter Musa Khel was killed and Yusufzai had grieved for him. Mir says she had informed him that her school had been forcibly closed down for many days and that she had written a diary on the BBC website against this act of Taliban. Mir writes that the very same evening, he arranged for a live TV show featuring Yusufzai. Mir says that Yusufzai had supported the peace agreement since she thought it may get her school reopened; he says she had no real enmity with Taliban although she knew that Taliban were responsible for keeping her away from school and had destroyed many other girls’ schools. Mir says that the peace agreement failed and after the Army operation, even though schools were reopened, Yusufzai was not happy with security check-posts and curfew restrictions. She met Mir in Islamabad along with her father and expressed that if confidence between locals and the security forces was not maintained, Taliban would return. Mir writes that Yusufzai had no idea that her passion for education would become a threat to her life and the so-called protectors of jihad would claim this shameful act with pride. He says that TTP claimed Yusufzai was a ‘fitna’ and that killing her was lawful as per Islamic Sharia. He says he discussed the issue with many eminent Ulema but none ratified this and rejected TTP’s stand. Mir asks civil society in Lahore and Karachi, who supported drones as being the best remedy for eradicating Taliban, to gather courage and visit Mingora if they couldn’t go all the way to South Waziristan to see the reality with their own eyes. He says that the war on terrorism had divided the Pakistani society to a dangerous extent. He says on one hand, those against the US and the Army said that they favoured suicide attacks and questioned why the Pakistani media remained silent when Pakistani children died in drone attacks and in the Army operations. He says that on the other hand are the anti-Taliban drone supporters who were not willing to come down from their heights of liberal extremism. All nationalist parties had united against this ordinance and   even the Bhutto card would not work for PPP in Sindh’s interiors. The attack on Nafisa Shah’s rally was said to be a trick to postpone the general elections and to harass PPP leaders. Attacks on Sindh Minister Agha Siraj Durrani’s house and the pamphlets distributed by ‘Sindhu Desh Liberation Army’ hint at the hand of separatists. The edit goes on to say that though no loss of life was reported in these attacks, which even the attackers had not intended, it is clear that PPP had failed in Lyari and Karachi and that it had lost the public’s trust in Sindh’s interiors.
