2. BCL again halts IU transport movements
A group of Bangladesh Chhatra League activists on Thursday halted the plying of all transports of Islamic University, Kushtia demanding immediate release of four university unit BCL leaders.

Another BCL group also ransacked a university bus at Shailakupa upazila of Jhenidah, reports our Kushtia correspondent.

The four BCL leaders were sent to jail on July 9 a day after police arrested them during a raid at Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahan Hall.

Sources said the BCL groups are not from the university unit. When contacted IU Proctor Mahbubul Arfin told that a group of BCL men, who are not students of the university, have been creating unrest on the campus. At least 10 students were injured when police charged batons on them. Police also arrested four students from the spot.

According to police, a group of about 20 BCL men halted the first trip of university transport at Alampur, 15 kilometers off the campus and 10 kilometers from Kushtia town, on the Kushtia-Jhenidah Highway at about 8:00am.
Earlier on July 11, a BCL group at Islamic University (IU) stopped the plying of all university transports on the same ground. http://www.thedailystar.net/newDesign/latest_news.php?nid=24896
