Dhaka: The International Crimes Tribunal on Wednesday asked the authorities concerned to produce Jamaat-e-Islami Nayeb-e-Ameer Delwar Hossain Sayedee before it on August 10 in connection with 1971 genocide.
The three-member tribunal headed by Justice Nizanul Huq passed the order as the prosecution on August 2 submitted the second complaint case against Sayedee, another detained Jamaat leader, for committing genocide during the Liberation War in 1971.
The crimes tribunal also fixed August 10 to hold the hearing on the petition filed by the prosecution seeking its direction to issue arrest warrant against Sayedee.
The tribunal also hold hearing on the six petitions filed by the lawyers for four other top Jamaat big shots on August 10.
In their first move on August 2, the defence filed three petitions before the tribunal and prayed for withdrawal of the arrest warrants against Jamaat Ameer Motiur Rahman Nizami, its Secretary General Ali Ahsan Muhammad Mojahid, and two Senior Assistant Secretaries General Muhammad Kamaruzzaman and Abdul Quader Molla.
The war crimes prosecution filed the case against Sayedee under the International Crimes Tribunal Act.
In the case, the prosecution charged Sayedee with committing genocide and crimes against humanity and peace during the Liberation War in 1971.
Earlier, on August 2, the tribunal in its first ruling ordered to keep the four detained top Jamaat leaders–Nizami, Mojahid, Kamaruzzaman and Molla–in jail in connection with war crimes during the 1971 Liberation War.

2. Shibir men held with bombs, arms
Rapid Action Battalion (Rab) Tuesday night arrested four leaders of Bangladesh Islami Chhatra Shibir from Dhaka and Gazipur and recovered some explosives, arms and ammunition from their possessions.
The arrestees were identified as Alamgir Hossain Raju, former president of Motijheel Shibir unit; Sultan Mahmud Ripon, president of Mirpur Bangla College Shibir unit; Md Imran alias Mamun, president of ward No 42 unit of Mohmmadpur; and Abdullah Bin Sabid, president of Mohammadpur unit.
The Rab personnel also recovered one shutter gun, five bullets, six locally-made bombs, five packs of Sulfur and Potassium; nine mobile sets, some books of their organisation and Tk 1 lakh from their processions.

3. Charges placed against 337 more Pilkhana BDR men
A special court of Bangladesh Rifles on Wednesday placed charges against 337 BDR jawans of four Secretariats and Rifles Sports Board (RSB) of Pilkhana.
The special court-6, led by BDR Director General Major General Rafiqul Islam, asked the authorities concerned to produce all the 337 accused BDR personnel before it on August 10 after their arrest.
A total of 202 BDR men out of 337, have already detained while the rest 135 are serving in different battalions at its headquarters Pilkhana.
The court proceedings continued nearly two-hour from around 10:40am.
The other members of the court are deputy attorney general Mohammad Didarul Haq Akand and BDR official Lt Col Mohammad Nurul Alam.
